The diploma work represents the concept and implementation of a smart electricity meter
which is based on the use of block-chain technology and enables the user to easily and cheaply manage the purchase of electricity. It is designed as an addition to an existing meter, through which it acquires data on the flow of electricity, writes it into blocks and links them to the block chain. Implementation is based on the Ethereum platform, which enables smart contracts and implementation of micro-payments. In the diploma thesis we present a system that connects the user, provider and smart meters via a block chain. Simulation of the smart meter's operation, from the purchase of energy to its
consumption, has also been performed.
