The thesis describes increasing efficiency of a Single-cylinder four-stroke internal combustion engine by improving the gas path of the engine. It identifies operation of the engine, wave actions and simulation modeling of the system. Analysis of the gas path was carried out on inlet and exhaust system on a wide operating range in order to obtain the best solution. Simulations were performed in professional simulation software. Simulation results show as great influence of the wave actions of the system on a efficiency of the internal combustion engine. With proper configuration of the gas path system, it is possible to improve efficiency of the internal combustion engine and adjust the engine characteristics for intended use.
