The thesis deals with the problem of finding a laser profilometer system's properties, such as position and size of measurement area as well as resolution, given a set of geometric and component parameters.
In this thesis we present theoretical basics, advantages and disadvantages of laser profilometry. To develop a mathematical model, we used the process of mapping a pixel's location on the camera sensor to its position on the measurement area, which also enables us to calculate a particular pixel's resolution.
We created a program that calculates the measurement area and meter resolution given a set of parameters.
