The success of a football game depends on many factors, one of them being speed which comes in many forms and it intertwines with other motoric abilities and elements of the game. Speed training due to its high innateness and complexity is one of the most important substantive programs for children and adolescents.
In the diploma paper, the focus was on the motoric ability of speed in footballers in connection with the characteristics of a modern football game and training of the young in different age periods. In the first part of the diploma paper we presented the development of children and adolescents, characteristics of a modern football game and its demands from the viewpoint of quantity and intensity of movement. We defined basic principles and types of conditioning training in football, methods and practices of work. In the continuation we described specific forms of speed in a football game and guidelines of speed development in different age categories, which we supplemented with practical examples.
