The importance of homework has changed dramatically over the last years. Nowadays, homework does not just have a repetition function in a learned school, but it can also be given to students as a preparation for a new learning material, research of an unknown, etc., having an important educational and educational function. Homework assignments can greatly contribute to achieving learning objectives and student progress. It is precisely because of this that homework assignments must be carefully planned, adequately delivered and verified by teachers. In this context, the role of parents is also important to provide the student with all the support and to provide him with the appropriate space, etc., so that the student can fulfill the task.
In the thesis I described the importance and goals of homework, and the types of homework. I mentioned three principles that play an important role in them, explaining how to homework assign, mediate and how to check the homework by the teacher, as well as how to perform and verify the homework only by the student. In this, I summarized the different effects that the homework can have on the student. In the empirical part, I focused on the students' perceptions of homework, namely the importance, usefulness, interest and quantity of them. I focused primarily on homework assignments in mathematics, the subject of which I will continue to teach in the future.
