Abstract

Title:Analysis of innovative shaft connection of the universal grapple
Abstract:
Strength analysis of the universal hydraulic grapple is performed in the thesis. The introductory part is intended for general presentation of grapples and for the discussed universal grapple. Than the numerical model of the universal grapple is presented as well as its preparation for FEM analysis. Strength analysis, performed with Ansys program, is described hereinafter. The maximum load generated by the hydraulic cylinder is taken into account. At the end the results are presented, from which it is evident that the shaft connection is able to withstand the predicted loads. Keyways for the pins (holes on the hub) are found to be critical.
