The purpose of this thesis was to investigate and present the usability of Ugi balls in functional workout, which would influence the improvement of fitness and health of the persons performing it. First, we introduced and described the training tool Ugi Ball, which is a modern version of the heavy ball, and explained its usefulness in functional workout, which aim is it to imitate simple and complex moving patterns from everyday life. In this thesis, we demonstrated and described body strengthening gymnastic exercises with the Ugi ball, which can be used at the beginning, during the main part and/or at the end of the workout. The selection of exercises included 6 general dynamic warm-up gymnastic exercises, 21 strengthening gymnastic exercises and 6 gymnastic exercises for psychophysical relaxation. We came to the conclusion that such exercises can improve physical abilities (especially power, flexibility, balance, and power endurance), which can, consequently, improve the quality of life. The thesis is useful for all who are involved in planning and implementation of functional workouts.
