Abstract
V tem diplomskem delu pišem o protitelesih proizvedenih v rastlinah. Na začetku sem predstavila trenutne načine proizvodnje, nato pa prešla na rastline ter njihove lastnosti. Predstavila sem prednosti in slabosti uporabe rastlin za proizvodnjo protiteles. Opisala sem različne načine transformacije, genetska orodja, ki jih pri tem uporabljamo ter postopke optimizacije proizvodnje protiteles. Nato sem opisala različne načine gojenja, kot so na primer poljski poizkusi, gojenje v rastlinjakih, tkivne kulture ter gojenje celičnih kultur v bioreaktorjih. V drugi polovici sem se osredotočila na sama protitelesa, primere, ko so bila že uspešno proizvedena v rastlinah ter njihovo učinkovitost in varnost. Na koncu sem povzela še trenutno stanje po svetu in napovedi za prihodnost.

Title:Production of antibodies in plants
Abstract:
In this thesis I wrote about the production of antibodies in plants. I introduced current techniques of production and then compared them to plants and their characteristics. I presented advantages and disadvantages of plants as expression systems for production of recombinant antibodies. I described different methods of plant transformation, genetic tools that can be used and various ways of optimization of gene expression. Then I introduced different cultivation techniques, such as planting whole plants in the field or in green houses, cultivation of tissue cultures such as roots, and cell cultures in bioreactors. In the second part I focused on the antibodies. I listed examples when they were already successfully produced in plants and wrote about their safety and efficacy. At the end I summarized the current state of use of plants as expression systems and some predictions for the future.
