The company decided to upgrade existing assembly cell in order to manufacture a new product. In this master’s thesis, we analyzed the existing process of assembly the electric motors and define its weak points. Ideas for improvements, gained with brainstorming, has been evaluated with utility analysis and the best solutions have been selected. With the use of additional devices, we enabled the process of manufacturing new type of electric motor. By rearranging the cells from L shape to the O-cell and balancing the operations, we reduced cycle time. We have reduced the losses, which are not directly related to the assembly and thereby increased the overall efficiency of the process. With the new control device and with the introduction of traceability, we have raised the quality of products. The economic viability of the investment was carried out with static and dynamic methods of investment account.
