The master thesis presents quantity takeoff using advanced electronic takeoff system. The main purpose of the thesis is to present main advantages and potential use of advanced tools for electronic takeoffs.
In the first part essential requirements for the preparation of quantity takeoff and comparison between manual and electronic measurements on the basis of digital documents and models are elaborated. Electronic takeoffs enable the use of more accurate input data, such models in original formats and formats based on the IFC standard and raster and vector drawings. The IFC standard is described from the point of view of quantity takeoff. Different software solutions that enable advanced electronic takeoffs are also presented and described.
The case study demonstrates the use of electronic takeoffs using a BIM model of a single-family residential house. The model was developed by ARCHICAD 20 software. The thesis describes essential steps that are necessary to achieve the objective, namely for the quantity takeoff process in the CostX 6.0 tool. We also present various exterior and interior visualizations of the single-family residential house that were prepared in the Artlantis Studio.
