In the present thesis we discuss different ways of determining coordinates and further distances and heights on the comparation base, located in Logatec. The aim was to check the quality of coordiantes acquired from different GNSS surveying methods, namely static and RTK-measurement method. We also discuss the results from classical terrestrial surveying method, namely distances and height differences, which served as the reference for the comparison of the same quantities, computed from coordianates from GNSS.
We studied the problem, how different strategies of GNSS post-processing affect the quality of coordinates. Were acquired coordinates in GNSS network, first by non-redundant baselines and next by least-squares adjustment od redundant baselines. Next we checked how diiferent interval of registration and observation duration affect the quality of the individual base vector and further coordinate estimation. We found out that shorter intervals of registration do not give more accurate results comparing to longer ones. In following tests we have used different base stations’ data, namely from the Slovene continuously operating reference network SIGNAL (points Idrija and Ljubljana) and the virtual reference station VRS. The latter led us to most precise results.
In addition, we estimated the quality of coordinates from RTK-method. The procedure of measurement performance followed the idea, described in the standard ISO17123-8. Finally, we compared results from different GNSS methods with the results of classical terrestrial surveying. The comparison was based on distance and differences in heights. The most interesting finding was that we should perform several repetitions of coordinate determination over a certain period, since some coordinates acquired in different sessions distinguish more than expected.
