Abstract
V diplomskem delu z naslovom Spanje in počitek otrok smo v teoretičnem delu želeli preučiti, koliko spanja potrebujejo predšolski otroci, opredeliti faze otroškega spanja ter predstaviti in opisati elemente dnevne rutine v vrtcu. V empiričnem delu pa smo s pomočjo anketnega vprašalnika ugotavljali, ali vzgojiteljice/vzgojitelji ter pomočnice/pomočniki vzgojiteljice/-a upoštevajo individualne potrebe otrok pri spanju v vrtcih v Beli krajini in Novem mestu ter katere dejavnosti strokovni delavci ponudijo tistim otrokom, ki ne spijo. Namen raziskave je bil ugotoviti, kako izvajajo to dnevno rutino v vrtcih v Beli krajini in večini vrtcev v Novem mestu ter v kolikšni meri upoštevajo otrokove želje in potrebe pri načrtovanju in izvajanju tega dela dnevne rutine. Pridobljeni rezultati so pokazali različna ravnanja in mnenja, ki jih imajo strokovni delavci iz omenjenih vrtcev. Opaziti je napredek v tem delu dnevne rutine glede na raziskave, narejene v preteklem obdobju. Menim pa, da je še vedno premalo vključevanja želja in potreb otrok pri načrtovanju in izvajanju počitka oziroma spanja v vrtcu.

Title:
Day-time sleeping and nap time of nursery school children
Abstract:
The theoretical part of the diploma thesis Day-time sleeping and nap time of nursery school children looks into how much sleep preschool children need, it specifies the phases of a child's sleep and presents and outlines the elements of daily nursery school routine. The empirical part of the thesis presents a survey which has been carried out among nursery teachers and their assistants in nursery schools in Bela krajina and Novo mesto. It tries to establish to what extent the individual need of children are observed and what kind of activities are being offered to children who fail to sleep. The purpose of the survey was to learn to what extent this daily routine is followed as well as to what extent a child's need and wishes are observed in planning and carrying out this part of the daily routine. Results have shown a difference in execution and opinion of practitioners included in the survey. Although progress is seen in this part of the daily routine in comparison to existing data, I believe the needs and wishes of children still aren't sufficiently taken into account.
