The final thesis discusses cooperation between kindergartens and local environment and focuses on intergenerational cooperation with centers of elderly people. The purpose of the study is to acknowledge the reasons and ways of cooperation between kindergartens and centers of the elderly and to research what the people involved think of intergenerational cooperation.
The theoretical part presents curricular basis of environmental cooperation and exposes the benefits of intergenerational cooperation and obstacles which can occur in intergenerational cooperation. In the empirical part I used qualitative analysis to determine frequency and ways of cooperation between Kindergarten Horjul and Horjul Retirement Center. Furthermore, I wanted to find out the opinion the interviewees have on the topic. I gained the information with the use of a half-structured interview, which was attended by the employees of both institutions, as well as two residents of the Retirement Center. The research showed that both sides are aware of the benefits of the cooperation, but kindergarten teachers have trouble combining intergenerational cooperation with other planned projects.
