Abstract
V diplomskem delu smo obravnavali tematiko oglaševanja. Opisali smo posamezne elemente oglasov: sporočilo, naslov, pomožno besedilo, slikovni material, slogan in logotip podjetja. V prvem delu smo analizirali elemente in likovna načela tujega tiskanega oglasa in dvanajst slovenskih tiskanih oglasov za knjige.

Title:Books advertisment
Abstract:
In the diploma thesis we have considered the topic of advertisement. Today advertisement is all around us and it is closely related to graphics design. Advertisement is promoting ideas, services and products, but graphics design makes them attractive to the eye. The theoretical part describes qualities of good advertisement and principals of art which are used in design. The chapter is concentrated on elements of printed ads, different shapes and types of printed ads. The process of making a printed ad includes graphics design, preparation for printing, printing and finishing. The chapter provides the information of all processes of making the ad including the graphic finishing for all types of ads such as poster, flyer, catalogue, brochure and magazine. Furthermore, chapter provides the information about the techniques of printing and variety of paper used in advertisement. Experimental part contains two chapters, first analyses existing book ads and the second presents the process of making our own two different examples of ads for a book. First chapter includes elements and principals of art of one foreign ad and number of Slovenian printed ads. We have concluded that many ads for books brake the fundamental principles of art, and the result is unattractive ad, which does not reach the target audience and consequently is not successful. Based on findings, the second chapter covers the designing process of two different ads for books. Moreover, it describes the target audience, designing and preparation of files for printing process.
