Master thesis shows and describes various views and problems of institutions and individuals, which intensively work with juvenile delinquents. The thesis emphasizes theoretical definitions and the
regularization of institutional measures. In the empirical part it presents the analysis of the interviews which were taken at the Šiška Center for social work, at Radeče correctional institution, at Logatec educational institute and at Ljubljana district court. The analysis analyses the answers on most delicate problems with juvenile delinquency.
The purpose of the institutional measures is to achieve the minor's education and re-education in an institutional environment under the constant supervision of professionals. The educational measure of placement in an educational institution may be imposed by court or center for social work, while the educational measure of placement in a correctional institution may impose only the court. Both institutional measures must comply with the general legal conditions. According to the statistics the trend of measures has been reducing, due to the fact that the juvenile crime has been reducing too.
The aim of the master thesis is to pay attention to the importance of the treatment of delinquents and display the current problems faced by practitioners that work with juvenile delinquents.
