When the fertilized ovum implanted outside the womb talking about extrauterine or ectopic pregnancy. It mainly occurs in the fallopian tube, but also in the ovary, cervix, and stomach. The causes of ectopic pregnancy are very different: endometriosis, inflammation in the pelvic cavity, tumors, cysts and contraception. As more and more women use contraception, we will investigate how much influence the contraception in an ectopic pregnancy. The intention of the diploma is to present an ectopic pregnancy, contraception and how much influence the contraception to ectopic pregnancy. The diploma is written a critical review of the literature in English and Slovenian language. Author od the thesis is the study of literature found that the greatest risk factor is intrauterine contraceptive devices (IUDs), followed by sterilization, oral contraceptives and emergency contraception.
