Abstract
Namen prispevka je predstaviti pojem biotska pestrost v šolskem kontekstu. Poučevanje o biotski pestrosti in njenem ohranjanju bi lahko bil učinkovit pristop za informiranje o pomenu različnih vrst in ekosistemov ter naše odvisnosti od ekološkega sistema, ki zagotavlja življenje. V zaključku prispevka zato podajamo priporočila za pouk o biotski pestrosti. Oblikovali smo trifazni model štirih usmeritev za poučevanje o biotski pestrosti, kjer priporočamo, da se poučevanje začne z vrstno in konča genetsko pestrosto, od lokalnih do globalnih naravovarstvenih vprašanj, od neposrednih do simbolnih izkušenj, ter od individualnega do družbenega nivoja.

Title:Biodiversity in school : where, when and how to teach it?
Abstract:
The purpose of this paper is to describe the concept of biodiversity in school context. Teaching about biodiversity and its conservation could be an effective means of communicating the significance of various species and ecosystems and our dependence on ecological life support systems. As such, some implications for biodiversity education are provided in the conclusion. Three-phase model with four main guidelines for teaching biodiversity are outlined, recommending teaching from species to genetic level, from local to planetary conservation problems, from direct to symbolic experiences, and from individual to societal level.
