Abstract
Diplomsko delo obravnava izbrana literarna dela mladinskih književnikov od leta 1880 do leta 2007. Njihova izbrana dela so raziskana na podlagi ekokritike in njenih tematskih področij. V ospredju teoretičnega dela je predstavitev ekokritike, posebne discipline literarne vede, ki se je razvila šele v devetdesetih letih 20. stoletja. Opisane so okoliščine nastanka ekokritike in njena raziskovalna vprašanja ter tematska področja, ki jih raziskujemo v nadaljevanju diplomskega dela. Opazovali smo odnos avtorjev do narave, ki se je skozi čas spreminjal, in vsako posamezno delo obravnavali glede na ekokritiško področje, ki ga najdemo v posameznem izbranem literarnem delu. Osrednji del empiričnega dela vsebuje analizo treh izbranih del Anje Štefan, ki smo jih analizirali z otroki vrtca Borovnica, starimi pet let.

Title:Ecocriticism: representation of nature in selected children's literature
Abstract:
This thesis deals with selected works by some authors of children's literature from the period 1880–2007. It explores the authors' works based on the principles of ecocriticism and its scope. The theoretical part revolves around ecocriticism as a special discipline of literary studies which only emerged in the 1990s. It describes the circumstances under which it developed and discusses its research questions and topics that are further explored in the next part of the thesis. We observed the authors' attitude towards nature and how it changed through time. Each individual work was assessed in line with the relevant area of ecocriticism. The empirical part is based on three works by Anja Štefan, which were analysed with the help of five-year-old children attending the Borovnica Kindergarten.
