Abstract

Title:Voltage control in distribution networks with high share of distributed energy sources
Abstract:
Because of directives which are determining the mandatory shares of energy generated from renewable sources, the voltage regulation topic is current again. Distributed generation sources are causing voltage raises in the grid which can not be detected and solved with the traditional regulation scheme. A better way to regulate voltage has to be found. Two approaches to this problem are checked within this thesis. In the first approach we check the traditional scheme where we add MV/LV on-load tap changers where needed and the second approach is a central principle of voltage regulation which regulates based on the measurements of voltage from different points of the network. In the model of our utility network we gradually increase the power of distributed generation and analyze the voltage conditions in different working points of the network. We conclude with an opinion about which voltage regulation priciple is more suitable for our case.
