Mobile applications have been a part of our everyday life for almost a decade. Due to the increasing market saturation of mobile applications, their quality is becoming one of the main competitive advantages. Testing has a major impact on the quality of mobile applications, therefore it is very important to pick adequate activities and tools for mobile application testing. This master thesis presents an evaluation framework for activities and tools used in the testing of mobile applications, which includes social, technical and economic aspects. Considering all three aspects, the evaluation framework involved all key stakeholders in the testing process, which ensured its integrity. The framework was conceived on the basis of existing relevant literature. Its success was verified in three case studies, conducted in companies developing mobile applications. Their managers confirmed that using the framework provided them with new and useful information.
