In this study we find out how much money subjects spend monthly to pay for organized sport activities (eg. classes, programs, equipment, etc). This research includes 686 parents whose children attend 1st to 4th grade of nine-year primary school. The sample of subjects was obtained from 7 primary schools and 3 kindergartens in Ljubljana, Maribor and coastal region. Data was collected with questionnaire based on research project Otrok med vplivi sodobnega življenjskega sloga (Inštitut za kineziološke raziskave Univerze na primorskem) and processed with SPSS program for Windows.
We found out that male subjects spend more money (72,94€) for organized sport activity than female subjects (45,88€). Most money for organized sport activities in therms of age was spend by parents aged from 40 to 49 years old (62,60€), in third place are parents from 30 to 39 years old (49,63€). Parents with primary school education spend more money (53,00€) for sport activity than all others except for those with faculty education or college (63,68€). Those who live in cities spend most money for organized sport activity in therms of living environment (60,68€). Parents with a smaller number of children (three or less) spend more money (parents with three children spend the most 56,70€) to pay for organized sport activity than those with more children.
