Abstract
Dandanes sta disciplina in avtoriteta v vsakdanjem življenju pereč problem.

Title:
Gender and teachers authority
Abstract:
The discipline and authority are nowadays in everyday life pressing problems. The main reason for it could be the change in society and modern way od life which allows children more freedom than they once had. There are practically no more limits and also punishment which once was the way to obedience is nowadays intolerable. Parents have less and less authority over children and at the same time children's autonomy is growing. The same problem is in the classroom where the teacher's authority is challenged. Psychologists and sociologists find the main reason for such developments in new way of life which is consumer capitalism. But if we take a look only into school field, we cannot dismiss the fact that in 18th century women teachers started to take positions over men. And not only that they took their places, the whole teacher proffession became more or less completely feminized. Through my research I have tried to determine whether we can associate the authority in classroom with gender of the teacher and whether this change could be the reason for less authority in the classroom nowadays.
