Abstract
Testikularni oociti so veliki, od 58 do 120µm, in z značilnostmi diploten faze prve mejotske delitve, saj so v njihovih jedrih številna jederca in krtačasti kromosomi.

Title:Analysis of testis-ova in the blind cave salamander (Proteus anguinus)
Abstract:
The research was done on histological sections of testes of twelve specimens of white subspecies of blind cave salamander Proteus anguinus anguinus. The testes were analyzed for the presence of testis-ova, including the size and morphology of oocytes. The stage of the testes was also determined, based on the stage of the developing spermatogonia and/or spermatocytes. Oocytes were found in the testes of 25% of specimens independently of the stage of testes. The oocytes were found in the testes with early as well as with late stages of spermatogenesis. In all cases, the oocytes in the testes were located in the lobules with early stages of spermatogenesis (among the spermatogonia and spermatocytes). The testis-ova were large, from 58 to 120µm, with the characteristics of diplotene stage of the first meiotic division. In their nuclei, we found many nucleoli and lampbrush chromosomes.
