Public and school libraries organise different events for preschool and school children in order to motivate using library and encourage reading. The present undergraduate thesis discusses events to motivate reading in Ciril Kosmač Public Library and libraries of Dušan Munih Most na Soči and France Bevk Tolmin primary schools. We wanted to get to know whether preschool and school children are satisfied with the organised events. The research included children who visit the events in the libraries, their parents and teachers who accompany them and furthermore librarians who organise the events. We used three different methods: observation, survey and interview. The results show that children are satisfied with the events in all three libraries, they often visit the libraries and they like reading. Parents and teachers are satisfied with the organised events, too. The events are promoted very well.
