This thesis presents an overview of album cover art from 1940 until today, with the emphasis on the metal genre.
Because of the large number of albums, only those that seemed the most important from the design perspective and were groundbreaking from the design and music development point of view.
In the practical part of the undergraduate thesis, my authorial work is presented – the cover art for Dalkhu's music album created on the basis of two songs written for their third upcoming album.
In the empirical pedagogical part of this thesis pupils created cover art for album of their own choice by taking into account the color or content harmony.
The pedagogical part includes teaching preparation, the analysis of a class and the presentation of five pupils' drawings from the eighth grade of primary school.
