The article presents contradictions of globalisation of cultures, framing the illumination of chapters from the life and work of Slovenian poet Tomaž Šalamun that reveal his international reach whereby the traditional Slovenian cultural mode (a local adaptation of international styles fro domestic purposes) is dramatically shifted while Slovenian imaginative frames are integrated into a global circuit of ideas, simbols and narratives.
