The ever-growing restrictions in natural and living environment spur energy grid operators into joint energy transmission corridors. The consequences of parallel running of power lines and pipelines are mutual electromagnetic couplings. At the beginning, this thesis presents Slovenian electric and gas grid as well as Slovenian legislation that dictates which appropriate actions should be taken to determine possible mutual couplings.
The following describes theoretical basis for the calculation of all kinds of mutual couplings and comparison between various parameters that effect the level of induced voltage on the pipeline are described. The process of the formation of a.c. corrosion and the method how to perform measurements to determine it's rate is also described. Various mitigation measures are presented for the restriction of occurrence of AC corrosion and the level of induced voltage based on measured or calculated results.
