Abstract
Cilj diplomskega dela je raziskava razvoja in uporabe roke kot dela telesa, ki je v korelaciji z govorom primaren za komunikacijo. Za kvalitetno komunikacijo je pomemben razvoj govora in jezika, prav tako pa tudi razvoj in uporaba roke. Roka lahko za namen komunikacije dopolni vokalno komunikacijo ali pa prevzame vlogo govorno-jezikovne dejavnosti. Vzporedna vloga roke pri razvoju govora in jezika je pri otroku z normalnim razvojem najbolj pomembna v predšolskem obdobju. Diplomska naloga zajema prenatalni del razvoja govoril in ostalih struktur potrebnih za nadaljnji razvoj komunikacije. Predstavljeni so razvoj in povezave naslednjih komponent komunikacije: govor in jezik, kretnja in gesta, možgani. Poudarek je na razvoju do šestega leta starosti. V delu, ki sledi, so naštete in opisane metode in terapije, ki namenjajo poseben pomen primernemu razvoju roke ter razvijanju uporabe roke za namen govorno-jezikovne dejavnosti.

Title:The hand: communication support and substitute
Abstract:
The objective of the diploma thesis is to study the development and use of hand as part of the body that is primary for communication in relation to speech. Quality communication depends on the development of speech and language, as well as on the development and use of hand. For purposes of communication, a hand can supplement verbal communication or assume the role of speech and language. With a normally developing child, the parallel role of hand in speech and language development is most important during the pre-school period. However, in the event of developmental deficiencies in either component, professional assistance for stimulating development and use is required. The diploma thesis covers the prenatal development of speech organs and other structures necessary for further development of communication. I present the development and interaction of the following components of communication: speech and language, hand signs and gestures, brains. The emphasis is on the development up to six years of age. The following section lists and describes the methods and therapies that particularly emphasise the primary development of hand and development of hand use for the purpose of speech and language.
