In modern society, teacher's responsibilities are to provide students with the competencies required for managing the advanced technological inovations. Recent surveys have confirmed the importance of lifelong learning and the significant impact of visual media in every day life. The development of visual media has profoundly implemented educational process, besides having changed the traditional teacher - pupil role. Primarly, this master thesis focuses on determining the significance of visual media to the population of 8th graders of primary school. Secondly, it is to establish the extent to which it is being included into the educational process by teachers and students respectively, and which pedagogical methods prove as the most efficient ones for targeting the required goals. The analysis of the media literacy questionnaire, in the next step, reveals the importance of critical evaluation of information in everyday life in relation to the emotional perception of of daily news broadcasts for children and of daily news broadcasts for adults. Since no detailed research on young people's interest in daily news broadcasts and their position in the classroom has been executed so far, the results of the one presented here are to prove a great contribution in the field of pedagogy, especially in the field of didactics.
