In the introductory part of the master's thesis we introduce an overview of the international trends on the area of spatial data infrastructure with the land administration system which represents one of the fundamental spatial infrastructures of the public surveying service. What follows is a description of the development of the surveying and mapping services in Slovenia which has since its beginnings after the Second World War up until now experienced numerous changes mostly because of economic changes and different political orders. The main part of the thesis first deals with the theoretical and then practical aspects of the organisation and activities of one of the fundamental parts of the public surveying services, that is, the Surveying and Mapping Authority of the Republic of Slovenia, which already faces many challenges and opportunities in the area of the spatial infrastructure in the future. We thoroughly study the structure of those employed by the Surveying and Mapping Authority of the Republic of the Republic of Slovenia and its activities in connection with financial operations in the last few years. In addition, we use a survey to analyse the employee satisfaction and their views on the development of the institution that employs them.
