The thesis describes development and operation of an electronic system for encoder testing. First, different encoder types are described. Then, I describe parts of the encoder system and identify differences between encoders from the testing perspective. In this way, I was able to find abstractions of all RLS encoders and their requirements for testing.
Functionality sections of the circuit that enable trimming and testing of RLS encoders are presented. In parallel with circuit testing, the design of FPGA programming for NI7841R DAQ module was in progress. Finally, I describe calibration procedures for the testing system.
The developed electronic system is successfully implemented as an interface between device under test and DAQ card NI 7841R. It forms now the key part of testing and trimming system in the production of RLS encoders.
