Abstract

Title:Observation of events in electrical network by using digital electricity meters
Abstract:
Distribution companies are mitting with many challenges in exercising advanced measuring system. One of challenges is how to control all advanced measurment equipment. Basic element of advanced measuring system is digital electricity meter. Digital electricity meter measure electricity and has many other functions. One of these function is archive of statusses that are recorded by all digital electricity meters. This archive of statusses are called events and with these events digital electricity meters record all important things that happen to them. For this reason we investigated possibility to control digital electricity meters with events. In modified program we can see event, time when event happened and on which electricity meter event happened. With events we have possibility to see what is going on with digital electricity meters. We had three digital electricity meters for testing events. We tested events for breaker and we tried to set alarm function to digital input that electricity meters have. With this alarm we detect when someone opens door of terminal measurement cabinet. We also tried to find sequence of events that shows potential unauthorized consumption of electricity. Then we found this sequence of events in modified program and we proved that this sequence of events actually happens in practice to electricity meters. We have proved usefulness of recording events and their posibilities in controling digital electricity meters and whole terminal measurment cabinets.
