Abstract
Postopek je sestavljen iz obdelave medicinskih slik, avtomatske in ročne razgradnje le teh, numeričnega modeliranja in optimizacije rezultatov. Namen orodja je olajšati in povečati uporabo elektroporacije in elektrokemoterapije v medicini.

Title:Web application for manual image segmentation
Abstract:
Biological cell membrane exposed to high enough electrical field becomes permeable to certain molecules that otherwise is not. This phenomenon is called electroporation. Biggest challenge is to ensure complete and sufficient coverage of entire tumor volume with high enough electric field. Positions and entry trajectories of electrodes are calculated with complex numerical calculations; extensive technical knowledge is needed. Medical staff usually do not have such technical knowledge and is not able to solve this mathematical calculation without assistance of an engineer. We decided to develop special tool, that enables medical staff to perform patient specific treatment planning without assistance of an engineer or extensive technical knowledge. Procedures are based on medical images processing, automatic and manual image segmentation, numerical modeling and optimization. Aim of all this it to simplify and increase the use of electroporation in medicine.
