Abstract
V vseh vzorcih obeh profilov prevladujeta oksida CaO in SiO2, sledijo Al2O3, Fe2O3, MgO, K2O in TiO2. Spodnji in zgornji del profila Nozno se statistično razlikujeta v SiO2, Al2O3, Fe2O3, MgO, CaO, K2O, TiO2, Ag, Cr, Nb, Pb, Rb, Sr, Th, V in Zn. Po starosti enaka spodnji del profila Nozno in profil Podnanos se statistično razlikujeta v vsebnosti: Fe2O3, MgO, CaO, TiO2, Ag, Ba, Nb, Se, V in Zr.

Title:Geochemical characteristics of flysch profiles Goriška Brda and Podnanos
Abstract:
The thesis presents two locations in the west part of Zunanji Dinaridi, Nozno in Goriška Brda and Podnanos. They are both located in the Gorica-vipava syncline. The flysch section from Nozno contains Paleocene/Eocene boundary, profile from Mt. Nanos is the Paleocen age. Chemical and mineral characteristics were analized on both outcrops on Paleocene and Eocene flysch in Nozno and on Paleocene flysch in Podnanos. Mineral analysis with XRD indicated that the samples contain quartz, calcite and muscovite. The samples in Podnanos section also contain mineral albite. The chemical analysis for all the elements in Nozno section was accomplished with the method of inductively coupled plasma (ICP), namely with atomic emission spectrometry and with mass spectrometry in ACME laboratory. X-ray fluorescence analysis (XRF) of samples was measured at the Department of Geology in Ljubljana. The chemical analysis indicated that in all samples CaO and SiO2 strongly prevail, followed by Al2O3, Fe2O3, MgO, K2O and TiO2. Geochemical structure reflects changes in lithology. The boundary Paleocen/Eocene in Nozno section is characterized by significant changes of major and minor elements. The upper and lower part in the Nozno profile are statistically different in SiO2, Al2O3, Fe2O3, MgO, CaO, K2O, TiO2, Ag, Cr, Nb, Pb, Rb, Sr, Th, V and Zn. The lower part of the Nozno section under the Paleocene/Eocene boundary is the same age as the Podnanos section. The comparison of geochemical properties of the section part showed that they are statistically different in: Fe2O3, MgO, CaO, TiO2, Ag, Ba, Nb, Se, V and Zr.
