In this thesis I presented and described the development of device for remote monitoring of overvoltage protection devices state and other devices of the company. In the introductory part of the paper I briefly described the origins of surges which occur in nature, types of protection elements that are used, overvoltage protection and surge counters manufactured by the company. I continued with a description of the design of hardware, described the key components (microprocessor, power supply circuit, input ports protection, TCP/IP module, front keyboard label), and tool that I used during the development of firmware. Operation of the program is presented with block diagrams and short extracts of code, such as the main loop, operation and detected ports changes, management of LED’s frontal keypad, RS-232 communication and operation routines with interrupt timers. In the last part of the thesis I presented web based control panel ProGrid Cloud, which is used to review the data, sent from the device, using the alarm via e-mail or SMS messaging. In conclusion, I presented possibilities for improvement and upgrading of the device.
