This work presents a case of projects program of a complex Business Support Systems (BSS) and Operations Support Systems (OSS) transformation execution at a telecommunications service provider. Contemporary telecommunications systems BSS and OSS must offer reliable network services, efficient execution of the business support processes and be able to adapt to fast changes.
Therefore, it is of key importance for the telecommunications enterprise that the systems are planned in compliance with the standards. The program of BSS and OSS consolidation and transformation is executed in accordance to business processes reengineering principles, which is the key factor for project goals achievement. Reengineered processes are planned in compliance with process model of Telemanagement Forum (TMF), Business Process Framework (eTOM – Enhanced Telecom Operations Map).
The result of this work is a proposal of solution for transformed and consolidated BSS systems which architecture and processes are implemented in compliance with the contemporary standard eTOM. Also, the work describes the scope, the goals of the projects of the transformation, project execution strategy, key project work packages and key success factors.
