Understanding and predicting low flows are among the most important tasks of effective water management. Due to the unfavourable distribution of rainfall throughout the year, drought and associated water scarcity have been a great problem also in Slovenia in recent years. For accurate and efficient analysis of low flows it is necessary to analyse several indices; furthermore the results of such analyses should be properly evaluated. In the article main low-flow indices are presented and calculated for 55 gauging stations in Slovenia. Among the presented indices are base flow index, some low-flow statistics such as mean annual minima of n days, mean, 70-, 90-, and 95-percentile flow; the seasonality index, seasonality ratio and recession analysis together with the recession constant. The R package lfstat was used for calculations and analyses. The results are presented both analytically and graphically and also correlation analysis was carried out to indicate the relationship among the calculated indices.
