This thesis analyzes the spatial planning legislation, the municipal spatial plan and the legislation regarding the installation of solar power plants in the karst area. Furthermore it is analyzed whether the installation of these PV plants is appropriate and in accordance with the spatial aspects of the area. The thesis consists of two parts: theoretical and applicative. The theoretical part uses existing literature to present renewable energy sources, types, features and technical specifications of photovoltaic systems, photovoltaic regulation in Italy and an analysis of the current legal regulations in the field of energetics, energy infrastructure and spatial planning in Slovenia. The applicative part analyses the Karst settlements Kobjeglava and Tupelče, surveys the residents of these two villages about their opinion on photovoltaics and presents the draft of the municipal spatial plan of the Municipality of Komen. Based on the results we have produced four variants of installing photovoltaics in space, which was evaluated by the evaluation method and thus get the best solution for our area.
