Abstract
Prostorsko multipleksiranje je ena izmed rešitev za povečanje prenosnih zmogljivosti optičnega vlakna. Večjedrna optična vlakna omogočajo prostorsko ločene kanale za prenos optičnih signalov. V diplomskem delu je opisan postopek izdelave sedemjedrnega optičnega vlakna. Opisani so vsi koraki od izdelave enojedrnega surovca, izdelave surovca z več jedri, izdelave vlakna do meritev izdelanega vlakna. Diplomsko delo je nastalo v podjetju Optacore d.o.o., ki razvija in proizvaja sisteme za proizvodnjo optičnih vlaken. Podjetje tudi proizvaja specialne tipe surovcev in optičnih vlaken

Title:Fabrication of multicore optical fiber
Abstract:
Space-division multiplexing is one of solutions which increase transmission capacity of optical fiber. Multi-core optical fibers allow spatially separate channels to transfer optical signals. The manufacturing procedure of Multi-core fiber is described in this diploma thesis. Al the basics steps like manufacturing of single core preform, stacking of multi-core fiber, fiber drawing procedure and measuring of fiber characteristics are described. Diploma thesis was made in company Optacore Ltd., which produce systems for optical fiber manufacturing. Company also produce special preforms and optical fibers.
