Abstract
Diplomska naloga opisuje prenos televizijskih vsebin preko satelitov, pri čemer je posebna pozornost namenjena stiskanju videa na prenosni poti. Prvi del diplomskega dela zajema zgodovino in razvoj televizije in prenosnih standardov. V drugem delu pa je opisana pot prenosa televizijskih vsebin na primeru prenosne poti v podjetju STN d.d., vključno s standardi za stiskanje podatkov.

Satellite television content pathway with an emphasis on data compression
Abstract:
This thesis describes transmision path of television over the satellite with special attention to video commpression. First part of this thesis is about the history and development of television and transmision standards. Second part describes transmision path as it is in company STN d.d. including the commpression standards.
