Abstract
Kot instrument raziskave smo uporabili anketni vprašalnik, s katerim smo raziskali področja: zadovoljstvo s samim seboj, socialni in intelektualni status, anksioznost, priljubljenost in telesni videz. Rezultati so potrdili naša predvidevanja.

Title:Self-image of adolescents with mild intellectual disability in connection with social factors
Abstract:
The aim of this master’s thesis is to analyse common self-image of adolescents with mild intellectual disability in mental development and social factors that influence its formation. We used questionnaire as an instrument with which we investigated the following fields: self -contentment, social and intellectual status, anxiety, popularity and physical appearance. We have also analysed the connection between recognized general and academic self-image and reached educational achievement at the end of 1st grade as well the action of social environment (family, friends, coevals, media and material situation of the family) on self-image formation. There were forty-four male and thirty-seven 2nd grade female pupils of different secondary school programmes of short term vocational education. Based on previous studies, we expect no differences between sexes, their self-image to be satisfactory and the academic self-image and educational achievement to be in positive correlation. We equally expected social factors to be in important connection with general self-image. At data analysis we used descriptive statistics, calculations of Pearson’s correlations coefficient, Shapiro-Wilk and Mann–Whitney U-test. The results confirmed our speculations. The insight into condition of self-image of pupils with mild disability in mental development will be a help to teachers in planning the educational process with adolescents and their integration in broader social environment.
