Thesis deals with development of software application for calculation of surge wave distribution over the power transformer winding. Winding is represented with lumped parameter model, which consists of basic linear parameters as resistance, inductance and capacitance. Calculation principles of these elements and derivation of system of differential equations are shown. Voltages and currents of corresponding equivalent circuit are calculated using numerical methods for calculation of ordinary differential equations. Measurements on real power transformer are included in this work as model verification. Program is developed in C# computer language which is part of Microsoft's® Visual Studio. It allows users to overview calculated data and exporting the results for further use in Excel.
