Abstract
V magistrskem delu smo pripravili in predstavili digitalna vezja za obdelavo video slike, ki se jih lahko vključi in uporabi pri nekem kompleksnem algoritmu. Takšnih vezij je na spletu trenutno malo oz. so plačljiva. Vsebina dela predstavlja prvi korak pri spoznavanju in razvoju vgrajenih sistemov za obdelavo slike. V prvem poglavju je na kratko podana teorija o metodah lokalnih operacij, ki se jih uporablja pri obdelavi slike in detekciji robov. Preučili in implementirali smo nekaj najbolj znanih robnih detektorjev, kot so Sobel, Prewitt in Canny. V naslednjem poglavju so predstavljeni celoten sistem, ki smo ga razvili, in orodja za načrtovanje sistemov s programirljivimi vezji FPGA. Nato so podrobneje predstavljene komponente vezja FPGA za obdelavo slike. Izdelali smo komponento za zajem videa, komponento z blokovnim pomnilnikom, komponento za prikaz slike na VGA monitorju, komponento za predobdelavo slike in komponento za povezavo s procesorjem. V poglavju programskih komponent je predstavljena aplikacija, ki se izvaja na procesorskem delu programirljivega vezja Xilinx Zynq. Aplikacija omogoča, da preko terminala preklapljamo med detektorji in spreminjamo njihove parametre. V zadnjem poglavju so podani rezultati obdelave slike in poraba sredstev programirljivega vezja za posamezno komponento in njihove gradnike.

Title:Digital Circuits for Video Image Preprocessing
Abstract:
The thesis describes and implements digital circuit for processing video images, that can be included and used in other complex algorithms. These circuits can be found online but are almost always payable. The content of the thesis represents the first step in understanding and developing of embedded image processing systems. The first chapter briefly describes theory about methods used for local operations which are used in image processing and edge detection. Some of the most common edge detectors have been studied and implemented, namely: Sobel, Prewitt and Canny. The next chapter describes the entire system that we developed and the tools which we have used to design system in programmable circuit FPGA. We managed to build video frame grabber component, block memory component, image display component, preprocessing video images component and component to interconnect with processor. An application running on the processor part of the Xilinx programmable circuits Zynq is presented in the chapter of software components. With this application we can switch between each detectors and change their parameters using computer terminal. The last chapter presents the results of image processing and the usage of programmable circuits resources for each component and their elements.
