Abstract
Magistrsko delo je nastalo v sodelovanju s podjetjem Iskratel in obravnava vpeljavo razvoja avtomatizacije testiranja GPON produktov sistema SI3000. Z vpeljavo avtomatizacije v proces testiranja zagotovimo hitrejše in učinkovitejše testiranje. V prvem delu naloge so opisane fizikalne značilnosti, sistemska arhitektura, delovanje časovnega razvrščanja, umerjanje dolžin in registracija nove ONU enote, dinamičnega dodeljevanja pasovne širine v odtoku in GPON protokoli sklad. V drugem delu je predstavljano ročno in avtomatsko testiranje, ki jima sledi avtomatizacija testnih postopkov po metodologiji ATLM. Sledi izvedba avtomatizacije GPON z načrtovanjem, zasnovo in razvojem avtomatskih testov. Na tem mestu je predstavljen tudi testni plan z opisom produktov, ki jih testiramo. Sledi predstavitev testne oprema in orodja, ki so potrebna za uspešno izvedbo avtomatizacije. Naslednja je predstavitev enega izmed testov z rezultati, temu sledi izvajanje in upravljanje GPON testov. Na koncu je predstavljena še revizija in ocena procesa testiranja ter sklep in zaključek.

Title:TEST AUTOMATION OF GIGABIT OPTICAL NETWORKS
Abstract:
The following master´s thesis has been written with cooperation with company Iskratel and discusses development of test automation for GPON products of system SI3000. With integration of automation in the testing process we ensure more time efficient and more effective testing. In the first part of master´s thesis there are presented physical characteristics, system architecture, operation of time division multiplex (TDM), ranging and registration of new ONU, dynamical bandwidth allocation (DBA) and protocol stack of GPON systems. In the second part of thesis there is presented manual and automatic testing which is followed by description of test methodology according to automated test life cycle (ATLM). Next there is presented implementation of GPON test automation with planning, design and development of testing procedures. At this point there is also presented test plan with description of equipment under test. Follow by presentation of test equipment and tools which are essential for successful test automation implementation. In the next part of thesis is described one of the automatic test case with results, which follows implementation and management of GPON test. In the end there are presented review and assessment with decision and completion.
