Light guides are penetrating into our everyday life, yet their production is unknown to the majority of users. Due to overloaded staff working in production, a need arose for a tool that would facilitate their work. As a result, a sprue cutting fixture was developed.
The present diploma thesis is a product of my first application of the aforementioned fixture in a production process. The fixture has facilitated the work and improved its quality.
In programming of the fixture, PLC and Mitsubishi Electric HMI unit play an important role. The two components ensure automation of the process and human-machine communication.
The diploma thesis addresses: programming of the fixture, troubleshooting, training of the staff that will use the fixture, software and hardware used.
