The experimental investigations of the structural system JUBHome BASE are presented in the first
part of the thesis. JUBHome BASE is a foundation assembly which consists of hydro isolation,
thermal isolation (EPS) and reinforced concrete foundation slab. The main objective of the
experimental investigations, which were performed at the Faculty of Civil and Geodetic Engineering,
was to determine the shear resistance of the JUBHome BASE system and the shear resistance of the
contact in layers of thermal isolation. Discussed are the results of the experimental investigation with
an emphasis on the coefficient of friction and shear resistance of contact between layers of thermal
isolation. In the second part of the thesis the simplified seismic analysis according to method with
horizontal forces is described. This method was used to estimate the design seismic force in the case of
a residential house located in Ljubljana. It was found that the design seismic force is lower than the
shear resistance of JUBHome BASE system. The slip between the hydro isolation and thermal
isolation would occur if peak ground acceleration would be greater than 0,36 g. If the thermal isolation
is glued then the shear resistance would be attained at peak ground acceleration of 0,68 g.
