In the first part of my graduation thesis problems in youth literature are represented and children`s rights are exposed in few stories that I mentioned. Some special situations are taken from everyday life in kindergarten and are described by theory of Vladimir J. Propp in order of 31 functions, which are described in his book Morphology of the Folktale. Their actions are mentioned as well.
In the second part of graduation thesis conflict actions are analyzed and the way of reaction is described, regarding children`s behavior. It is similar as the reactions of animals. They are described as follow: avoiding (turtle), competing/forcing (shark), collaborating (owl), compromising (fox) and accommodating (bear). Emotions and their importance in the mediation are defined, how they impact on mediation and how they are involved in this process.
The definition of mediation and its most important concepts represent the main part of the graduation thesis. The principles of the mediation process are described as well as the role and the behavior of mediator. They are followed by phases of the process, describing how the mediator should bring mediation closer to disputants and carry out without any complications.
The focus is on the skills and techniques that are explained with the help of children's literary works. It described and defined peer mediation and attempts of implementation in preschool.
In the main part of the thesis are written two stories for the introduction of mediation in the pre-school group in the kindergarten. They are followed by the implementation process of dramatization and the approximation of mediation for children.
Finally is described the process of the mediation with role play game, because the role play game is often used with preschool children.
