The goal of this thesis is the construction of a battery powered active differential probe for measurement of common-mode and differential voltage up to 500V With a frequency response of at least 1MHz. The probe will be used for development of switching power supplies in the Elektrotehnika Spekter.
We developed the basic circuit of the differential probe, a power supply circuit and a battery state indicator circuit. Safety elements were also added to the basic circuit. These elements protect the user and the surrounding equipment from a high voltage discharge. First we made a prototype differential probe that was used as a proof of concept and confirmation that the circuit is working as expected. After experimentation on the prototype we added some additional improvements. This led us to the final schematic from witch we constructed the final version of the printed circuit board. The circuit was built into a suitable case. Finally, we calibrated the device and measured its characteristics.
