Abstract
Different studies around the world show the loss of desire to read printed books, especially among high school students. Electronic media takes a big part of students free time, but when the work in school library is organized well and in an innovative and interesting way by teacher-librarian, high school students may come to school library and read books, spending their free time and having better achievements in school. This research was done using two methods: quantitative and qualitative. The quantitative was a survey using questionnaires among high school students in two cities and their surrounding villages in Albania. The hypothesis was that as in other studies made in other countries, there is a decline in reading, differences among boys and girls. In the qualitative part of the research we just wanted to show that the motives for reading are very dependent by teacher-librarian.
