In this thesis we research acoustics and electroacoustics in Mladinski klub Nade Žagar from Ilirska Bistrica (below MKNŽ) and present possible improvements.
Thesis deals with sound and our hearing system; some experiences are difficult to describe using just words, so 83 pictures improve room acoustic behaviour visual representation under different conditions.
Reader will discover the importance of MKNŽ in a given environment, will get basic knowledge about live concert audio equipement and learn about acoustic measurements basic tools.
We begin with a brief club history, workflow and most important club band performers; next step is brief club building history and arhitecture. We present basic sound concepts needed to understand the thesis, explain all audio equipment need for a live concert and focus on MKNŽ equipement.
After identified electroacoustic conditions in MKNŽ, we give possible ideas and practical solutions for improvements.
Thesis main part deals with room acoustic basics and presents negative acoustic phenomena. Thesis focuses on specific frequencies strength only and not on intensity changes over time. In this context we describe two free acoustic measurements and calculations softwares – AcousticCalculator and RoomEQWizard.
In conclusion we present first acoustic measurement settings, club acoustic frequency response and in deep analyze resulting graphs. We present innovative and different results display and propose possible solutions which will improve MKNŽ acoustics.
